Nolan's first Movie Theater Visit

Today was just one of those days that you just didn't know how it would turn out. Of course Nolan got up all cranky, and the truck was out of gas and we were running late. Of course it was all those things! Then, I get off work early, pick the kiddos up and the sitter goes and wakes the Nolanator up. Whoa....grouchy. Someone got up on the wrong side of his nap.
So, for about an hour I battle with his temper tantrums and then have to pack the kiddos up to get Nolan's haircut. He loves getting his hair cut. Whew....one less battle.
We get home. The kids are fighting like crazy. Ugh. I hide in my room. I just need to get out of the house and do something fun. James and I talked about taking him to his very first movie, just the three of us, this weekend. We decided to do it tonight since we have some serious shopping to do this weekend.
Nolan picked IHOP to go out to eat at. That was a great choice since it is right next to the Palace. The Palace is playing The Bee Movie. It was a cute movie. He did Super good. I was totally surprised. He did get a little antsy about 1/2 way through, but me made it. He was so excited to have popcorn and root beer! Then, I think he wanted to go to the arcade. I think that may have been why he was so antsy. He loves those video games. On the way out, we let him play one and we were off. He fell asleep on the way home. Ahhhh....makes bedtime so much easier.
Speaking of bedtime.....I think that is where I am heading.

ENT visit- I'm on a hot streak!!!!!

Well, no news from the visit to the ENT dr. (ear, nose and throat) He didn't tell us anything we didn't already know. Nolan has holes in both ear drums from the tubes and they haven't closed. His hearing is fine, which it should be. He told us to come back in 4 months to see if the holes have closed and if they haven't then he may need to patch them. I'm not going to worry to much about it because more than likely they will heal. We just have to make sure his ears stay dry and wear earplugs if we go swimming.
Ohhhh, I almost forgot the best news! I am on a hot streak today! I won another set (total of 8) tickets to Sesame Street live with backstage passes! Woohoooooo! Then I won a $50 gift certificate to the Good Egg at Bradley Fair. I won all of it off the radio today! I am saving so much money not buy the Sesame Street tickets! I told my fam that I should go buy a lottery ticket today! Well, off t bed!

Back to ourselves

Well folks, it looks like the Brown/Geatches household is getting better. Everyone seems back to their old personalities again and the road to recovery is reaching an end. Woohooo!!!! I still don't know how we didn't kill each other.
Not much has been going on with us. Sunday we had to ghetto-fy our backyard because our little 25 pound dog can climb the stupid fence and someone called and complained about it. Seriously? So now James had to put plywood up down half the fence so she can't climb it. Talk about curb appeal. Luckily you really can't see it from the street because it is the fence we share with the neighbor and we have a privacy fence so you can't see into the back yard. That didn't make much sense did it?
I went to Hobby Lobby the other day since they were having an awesome sale. Got almost $200 worth of stuff for less than $90. It was things that I don't normally buy because it is so expensive. Got some chipboard and tons of embellishments. Yeah! I actually have scrapped two pages in the last couple of days. I have to make myself sit down and do it, but I feel so much better when I get into it that I wonder why I don't do it more often.
Katrina has orientation for her part-time job until 5 tonight, so I will be picking up the kids from daycare. It is so hecktic when we get home. It is my least favorite time of the day. Well, breaks over so gotta run!

Influenza

The flu has struck the Brown house. Yuck. Everyone of us are sick. Thank goodness we are not vomiting or have diarrhea. We mostly have fever, sore muscles and I have one whopper of a cough. Happy freakin' Valentines Day to us!
James got me some beautiful flowers. I love carnations and he bought a basket bouquet full of them and other random flowers. I have pictures, but haven't uploaded them yet.
Not to much to report over here since we have all gone to the doctor today and are taking it really easy. Hope everyone else if feeling better.
James stopped smoking! It is so awesome. I hope it goes well. It is his way of affording cable now. That just shows how much he loves ESPN. :) Cable is his Valentine's present.
James' birthday is coming up at the end of the month and I have 2 really great gift ideas. I'm sure he will love them both. I don't want to say what they are just yet in case he reads this for some odd reason.
Well, I'm off to rest and takes some motrin. It seems to help the aches a little.

It's done!

James' vasectomy went well today. It was awesome that I got to watch. It had to take a zanex about an hour before the surgery and he was flying high. It was to funny. Our family doctor called him a pussy. How funny. I told the doctor to give him a prostate exam while he was at it, but dangit, he didn't.
The children have been fighting like crazy lately. Elayna has learned how to put Nolan in a headlock and is totally doing it everyday. She's not going to take his crap any more. he he he
Not much happened today. I took James for his surgery, took a much needed nap, helped Katrina make dinner and now I am going to spend a few minutes with my husband. He is finally awake after sleeping all day.
Tomorrow I told Nolan that just me and him would go to the zoo. It looks like it is going to be a beautiful day. He has been wanting to go see the penguins for awhile and why not tomorrow. Katrina has some errands to do, so she will be taking E and James can just lay back and chill most of the day.
I was hoping to get some scrapping in today/tonight but that didn't happen. I chose a nap. So glad that I did. Tomorrow I might be able to. So jealous of everyone at Crop-a-ganza.
Well folks, I'm off to go see my husband.
P.S. If you get a chance, Katrina and I are so loving Cashmere Mafia. We like it better than Lipstick jungle, but Lipstick Jungle has one hot guy in it. Check it out. Cashmere Mafia is on Wednesday and Lipstick Jungle is on Thursdays!

It's just one of those days.....

I got up and did the whole work thing. Ugh....I would give most anything to stay home with my son.
Nolan has been such a pita lately. Today he threw a fit when we were leaving McD's. He's is big trouble. He is getting a bath and going right to bed tonight. As I speak he is getting his meds and a drink so he can go to bed.
There isn't much going on this weekend. James is having his vasectomy tomorrow and I may go watch the KU vs. Baylor game at Old Chicago on Saturday with a couple of friends from work.

Here's a picture of the two little stinkers together. They were separated for 2 1/2 months and you wouldn't even know it two days later. They so fight like brother and sister. I feel really bad for both of them because Nolan lost his fluffy and his own room. He has to share it with Katrina and Elayna now. Elayna has to live in two homes every 4 weeks, so I know it is totally confusing for her.
Well, I'm off to put the Nolanator to bed. Enjoy your evening.

Where's Fluffy???

OMG. Nolan stayed at Grandma's on Thursday night. James picked him up Friday after work and somehow fluffy didn't make it home. Fluffy is a stuffed white rabbit that Nolan sleeps with every night. Well, my mom came over to watch him Friday and she swears she brought him to the car but no one can find her. WTH? I think I might be more devastated than Nolan. It really bothers me that we cannot find her. He mentions her and says that he can't find her. I think my heart is truly broken.
Katrina moved in and boy things are tight. Elayna just got here Saturday night. It is even more tight now. 5 people in a two bedroom house is not an ideal situation, but I am so proud of her and her decision. I will support her and let her stay here as long as she needs to.
Not much else going on here. I am taking Nolan to the allergist tomorrow to get retested. Let's hope we can challenge his egg and peanut allergy. Life would be so much easier. It's not awful now since we have adapted, but I would love for him to be able to try a real birthday cake or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Those are staples to most children's childhoods.
Well, I'm off. Nolan starts a new childcare tomorrow. I am hoping that he will start having a better attitude since he will be around other children. I'm sad that my mom won't see him as much, but the only child attitude has got to go!
