So, this weekend was sooooo nice. I went to Scrap Pink and got tons done, along with catching up with some friends, Michielle.......
I took my friend Kelly with me. I got her updated and she had a blast meeting new people, and Steff!
I finished the second book, New Moon, of the Twilight series. Okay, I know this series is for young adults, but I'm 28 and can totally relate. Give it a chance. The second book was slower than the first, but the things that she put in this book are critical to the third and fourth installments. When she gets to the excitement, watch out!
I have lots and lots of layouts to share, but haven't photographed them yet. I should be doing that in the next couple of days.
Let me think. What else happened this weekend? Hmmmm.....mostly a great time, and lots of relaxing. I was so ready for it and I enjoyed every minute of it.
I'm off. I will be back soon to post the layouts!

Wow, it's 6:15 and I already have my workout in and have had a shower. I hope this becomes a tread. Wohoo!

This weekend was nice. My dear friend Caitlin came, and we got some scrappin' and catching up done. It was so nice just to talk with her again, in person that is. I got 1 1/2 pages done and she got two! We had to take a little break in there to go get Nolan and my hair cut.
I Nolan's hair cut way shorter than ever before. Now, if he will let me spike it a little in the morning, it will look super cute! I tried to keep some length to my hair. I did get some choppy layers put into it to give it some texture. My hair has a mind of its own and I just don't take the time to make it mind, so I go for a pretty low maintenance cut.
I finished a book. I love to read. I had forgotten how much I love it. I haven't read anything since the last Harry Potter and this book was so different for me. It's call Twilight. Awesome....I'm sure many have heard about it. There is a movie coming out in November, but if you like Vampires, this is a book for you. (I'm not "in" to vampires, but I heard the book was awesome)
I can't divulge much about the book because, ummm any little tidbit I give tells too much. Basically, you discover and experience a love between a boy and a girl. She is a human and he is a vampire. You discover his word through her eyes and experience their love for each other. It isn't one of those romance novels with the scenes of love well described, but more of a "The Notebook" type of novel. I couldn't put it down. Now I am ready for the next book. I sure hope Kelly finished it this weekend!
Not much else going on in my world. I would post a picture of my new layout, but I am to lazy to take the time to upload the pictures. I wanted to say a quick "Hello" before Nolan finished his fishy.
Have a great night.

If anyone else has noticed, allergies are high right now. What does that mean for us? Well, Nolan is extremely allergic to Ragweed and Mold. The second most frightening experience I have ever had happened at 3:30 Wednesday morning. I woke (in an ambien haze) to the sounds of a barking seal that is choking on fish. I could hear it getting louder and louder. I jumped out of bead with the most throbbing beating heart I have felt since finding my child with blue lips in his crib. I woke James and immediately had him getting the neubulizer. Nolan was having one of the worst asthma attacks I have ever experienced. We gave him two treatments in two hours. He still wasn't clear. In the midst of this he is vomitting (from all the musus) and James is freaking out. I'm trying to keep it together and do what I have been told. After the second treatment we (Nolan and I)fall asleep in each others arms.
I woke up at 9:00 to bright sunlight wondering why I wasn't woken for work. My husband called in for me (we work at the same place) because he didn't want to wake me. I love him so. I took Nolan to the dr. and he is on steroids (in his nebulizer) once a day for 2 months. Basically until the end of the allergy season.
The poor kid hasn't eaten anthing in days. When he does try, up it comes. I don't think it bothers him to much since he really doesn't eat anyways.
I pulled on my "suck it up Mommy pants" and took him to school today. I trust his teacher (who is a good friend) to do what I tell her to. She was like, "Kim, we'll call you if anything happens." I felt so bad taking him, but he is going to be like this for awhile. We just have to work on it.
I'm not trying to be down or a negative Nancy, just relieved the stress is over. I am looking forward to the nice weather and getting some more outside time.
Ohhh.....Scrap Pink is coming up next weekend. I am supa excited. I'm taking a friend who has never been to the "Attic." I'm going to try and bring her up to the times.
Oh, I got ahead of myself. My friend Caitlin is coming from Lawrence tomorrow and is going to be here all weekend. We are going to get some scrapping done. I'm excited. She always helps me tap into my creative juices and inspires me so much.
I'm out for the night! Gotta get everything done....

Just a quick little update. James and I spend time doing laundry and cleaning the house. We chose to do some grocery shopping later in the evening. It wasn't so bad, but it reminds me of how much we hate Wal-Mart.
Today Nolan played with the neighbor's little girl. They are getting so close, but she is moving any day now. He will truely be heart broken.

Nolan and I made some caramel apples today. They turned out ok. After he left me for Kaylynn, I decided to paint my front door. It really needed a new coat of paint.
I went to ACE to get new hinges for the gate and boy has that turned into a mess. James started about 3:45 and ended around 8ish.....still wasn't 100%. Sometimes things just make everything hard. We are not do it your self type of people I guess.
Well, I'm off to bed. Enjoy your evening. I would have a card to share, but I already gave the best wishes card to her tomorrow. They are inducing her on Monday.....kinda a long story. Have them in your positive thoughts Monday and Tuesday that all goes well.

Okay, so blogger is being a little bugger. Last night was pancakes at our house. My friend had school, so I watched her daughter for her. Each of the kids got to pick a shape (nolan picked a bird and elayna picked a butterfly) to cut their pancakes into. They thought is was seriously awesome!

I did a challenge at one of the scrap boards. What do you all think?

Ohh....I found an awesome vegan banana bread recipe (egg free b/c of Nolan's allergies.) It turned out absolutely awesome!!!!! Everyone at the house and work absolutely loved it. It is the best banana bread I have ever made. I'm finding that egg free recipes are getting to be better than the ones with eggs in them. My pancakes and sugar cookies are sooo much better than their egg variety. Ohhh....my sugar cookies. Good thing it is cooling off. James will be asking for them soon.

This is for the September sketch challenge over at 4 scrappy sisters.

This weekend was absolutely beautiful. I love this weather. I could deal with this all year round. Took a nice walk today. It seemed like I could have walked forever.....
I have a huge tub of pictures from my wedding, honeymoon and the rest of my life, along with two shoe boxes full of pictures from my dad (military and life) that I went through and sorted. I used a Creaking Keepsakes photo box holder (the big one) and all the pictures fit! I could not believe it. Wow, it says it holds 4600 photos. I just could not believe it.
I also went through all of my scraps. I sorted all my cardstock scraps by color and put them in hanging file folders. I couldn't believe how many I had. It will be so much easier now just to go to the black section a pick out some black cardstock than pushing them around, sorting and hunting amonst my pattern paper scraps.
Other than those scrapbooking endeavors, I didn't do much this weekend. Got most of the laundry done, but Mom's, is the laundry ever truely done?
I'm going to go finish watching Oceans Eleven with James. So far it is turning out to be a good movie. We haven't seen any of them and we are finally getting around to watching them. Everyone, have a great night!

I created a card for my Mom's birthday and got that sent out in the mail.

I made these cute little covers for a standardized package of post-its. Aren't they cute? The one on the right actually has the post-its in it, the other two I am taking to work tomorrow for a couple of associates.

Nolan and I were trying out subtraction today. First time for everything, right? He did sooooo good. It was amazing. He caught on so quickly. I am just amazed. I mean, he is not even 4 yet!
I'm going to go watch Million Dollar listings with my husband. Check ya later!

New layouts

On this layout, I'm going to put a hand print in the negative space and then do a journaling overlay on a transparency.
