Our Tree

Here is one of the first pictures of our Christmas tree. You can see that Nolan is taking a much needed rest!!

I found this really cool idea to use bokah and my camera to make lights different shapes. I cut out a star shape and covered my camera lens with it to create star lights on the tree. Pretty neat, huh?

So, here is what we have been up to since I last blogged. We got our Christmas tree. Not the best picture, but I haven't had that perfect moment yet where everything clicks to capture the beauty of it.....do you know what I mean? Last year I captured our tree and it looked purely magical. I don't know if it was because it was taken on Christmas Eve, but it was truly beautiful.

It snowed the other day. I know some of you that read this blog have had lots of snow.....we're talking feet for you gals, but this is all we got.....flurries, but I'll take 'em.

So I stared my December daily that Ali Edwards has inspired us to do. This picture started Dec 1. This is my favorite Christmas decoration. I got it when I worked at the Kansas Heart Hospital from one of the doctors and Nolan was showing it off. He hates his picture taken, so I will play by his rules!! :)
I think he did an awesome job with his letter to Santa. He has a hard time with his "s"'s, but hey, he just turned 4. He asked Santa for a Nerf catch ball....which translates to the Nerf cosmic catch game.

We went to my brothers house last night for dinner. This is what their living room looked like after we ate. Nolan had a great time playing with the legos while we all enjoyed each other's company.
Tonight Nolan and I are watching The Polar Express, which is my favorite Christmas movie.... I actually let Nolan touch my camera and he got a great shot of me.

I swear I can't get a picture of him lately with his tongue IN his mouth!! Oh well. It is capturing how he is right now.....an entertainer.

Updated with pictures

Our beautiful sunrise that Nolan and I watch before school one day.

November 21, the day of "Twilight" We got matching t-shirts and waited very impatiently until 3 for us to leave work!
Here is everyone after the movie. It was awesome!!!!!!!!!!
Nolan decided to try on his Halloween costume from 2 years ago. Not surprisingly, it still fits. He went to the store and everything all dressed up. Hey, what can it hurt and he is happy. Isn't that what really matters?
My favorite (and my family's) favorite dressing. Stuffing goes in a turkey, dressing is made as a side. FYI. :P

Doesn't James' turkey look lovely? It was super moist and super Yummy!

I woke up and was at Wal-Mart by 3 am. I had to get a power wheel! When I was walking out the door, this is what I found!

After lots of shopping on black Friday, I came home and James and Nolan has gotten a tree. Isn't it perfect? This is our first real tree since we have been together.

Well, Nolan just informed me that it is snowing! I have to go grab some pics!

Blog posts are so hard after not writing anything for so long. I have been so lazy....
Well, today we went to see our in-laws. We had a really great time. It is nice to have a side of the family that doesn't fight and bicker with each other. So nice and relaxing.
Kelly and I are stoked that we get to see the Twilight movie Friday after work. We already have our tickets. Woohoo. I totally hope it lives up to the book, but judging from the trailers, it looks sooo different.
Thanksgiving will be at our house this year. I thought we were only going to have our in-laws, but I'm thinking a few other people will be coming too. I guess I am going to have to make an effort to make the house look festive.....should I since we decorate for Christmas the day after?
I'm in the process of looking for a new Christmas tree. We had to throw our old one away last year. I seen one last year at Kmart that I loves, and now I am kicking myself because I didn't get it. I haven't found one even close to that one. I believe it was a blue fir tree. I'm so over the spruce....(watch me get one this year :) )
Tomorrow is Nolan's dr.'s appointment. He's eating is getter worse and I truely believe in my our Mother's heart that something is truly wrong. I really think he has an eating disorder. He will go hungry before he will eat something. That kid has only gained 1 pound in the last 7 months. Tonight we had pork chops (knew he wouldn't eat that,) mac & cheese, applesauce and strawberry milk. He took one bite of his applesauce and like 3 bites of mac n cheese and called it good. Hello! You had 1 roll for lunch today. WTH????? I looked up infantile anorexia and he has the same characteristics and has since we started baby food. I'm not sure that I wouldn't have a complex being allergic to eggs and peanuts!!!
Okay, so this post is totally random, but I'm just trying to remember what has been going on. Nothing scrappy related. I have done Ali Edwards Christmas journal books a few weeks ago, but haven't completed it yet. I still need to get the pages numbers and buy a few Christmas embelli's since I have nothing! Check out her blog. Her name is up on the right side of my blog.
